TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: September 2026

Welcome to MyCzechDoctor. These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the MyCzechDoctor website and the organizational and coordination services provided by MyCzechDoctor. MyCzechDoctor helps patients worldwide connect with independent Czech doctors, medical specialists and healthcare providers. A fundamental principle of the MyCzechDoctor service is the separation between:

A β€” Medical Services provided by the doctor or healthcare provider, and

B β€” Coordination and organizational services provided by MyCzechDoctor.

These are separate services and may be invoiced separately.

1. About MyCzechDoctor

MyCzechDoctor is an organizational, coordination and intermediary service designed to help patients connect with appropriate Czech doctors, medical specialists and healthcare providers. Depending on the patient's request, MyCzechDoctor may assist with:

  • identifying an appropriate doctor or specialist,
  • arranging an online consultation,
  • arranging a second medical opinion,
  • coordinating communication between the patient and medical professional,
  • assisting with the organization of medical care in the Czech Republic,
  • and other related non-medical organizational assistance.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, MyCzechDoctor does not itself provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, prescriptions or emergency medical care. Medical services are provided independently by the respective doctor or healthcare provider.

2. Two Separate Services

When using MyCzechDoctor, the patient may receive two separate types of services.

A β€” Medical Service

The medical service is provided by the doctor, specialist or healthcare provider. The medical professional is responsible for the medical aspects of the service, including medical assessment, professional advice, diagnosis where appropriate, treatment recommendations and decisions concerning further medical care. The medical service is charged and invoiced by the doctor or healthcare provider, unless the patient is expressly informed of another lawful arrangement in advance.

B β€” MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service

MyCzechDoctor may provide a separate organizational and coordination service. This may include identifying an appropriate medical professional, checking availability, arranging communication, coordinating an appointment, assisting with the organizational process and, where applicable, assisting with arrangements for medical care in the Czech Republic. The MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service is separate from the medical service. Where a fee applies to this service, it is charged and invoiced by MyCzechDoctor.

3. Submitting a Request

Submitting an initial request through MyCzechDoctor is free and without obligation, unless clearly stated otherwise before submission. No payment is required merely to submit a request. After receiving the request, MyCzechDoctor may contact the patient to clarify their requirements and determine whether an appropriate doctor, specialist or service can be identified. Before the patient commits to any paid MyCzechDoctor service, the applicable service and price will be communicated in advance. Where possible, information about the proposed medical professional, availability and the expected price of the medical service will also be communicated before the patient decides whether to proceed. The patient then decides whether to continue.

4. Ask Us First

Patients who are unsure which service may be appropriate can use Ask Us First. The initial Ask Us First inquiry is free and without obligation. Ask Us First is an organizational information service. It does not constitute a medical consultation and does not provide a diagnosis, treatment recommendation or emergency medical advice.

5. Prices and Separate Payments

The patient may therefore receive two separate prices and, where applicable, two separate invoices:

A β€” Medical Service

Price determined and invoiced by the doctor or healthcare provider.

B β€” MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service

Price determined and invoiced by MyCzechDoctor. The patient will be informed of the applicable MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service fee before agreeing to purchase that service. MyCzechDoctor does not add undisclosed fees after a service has been agreed. Additional organizational services requested by the patient may be subject to an additional fee. Where applicable, the price will be communicated before the additional service is provided.

6. Relationship Between the Patient, MyCzechDoctor and the Doctor

MyCzechDoctor facilitates contact and organization between patients and independent medical professionals. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the doctor or healthcare provider is professionally responsible for the medical service provided to the patient. MyCzechDoctor is responsible for its own coordination and organizational services. MyCzechDoctor does not direct or control the independent professional medical judgment of the doctor. A doctor may decide that an online consultation is not appropriate for a particular patient or condition and may recommend an in-person examination, diagnostic testing, emergency assessment or other medical care.

7. No Guarantee That a Doctor Will Be Available

Submitting a request does not guarantee that MyCzechDoctor will be able to identify or arrange a suitable doctor, specialist, appointment or medical service. Availability depends on factors including the requested specialty, the nature of the request, the patient's location, doctor availability and applicable legal or professional requirements. If an appropriate service cannot be arranged, the patient will be informed where reasonably possible.

8. No Emergency Medical Services

MyCzechDoctor is not an emergency medical service. Do not use MyCzechDoctor for medical emergencies or situations requiring immediate medical attention. If you believe that you or another person may require urgent or emergency medical care, contact the emergency medical services available in your current location immediately.

9. Information Provided by the Patient

Patients are responsible for providing information that is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge. Patients should provide the doctor or healthcare provider with relevant medical information requested for the consultation. Incomplete or inaccurate information may affect the ability of a medical professional to provide an appropriate medical assessment or opinion.

10. Medical Records and Sensitive Information

Medical records, diagnostic reports, scans, photographs and other sensitive health information should only be provided through communication methods designated for that purpose by MyCzechDoctor or the relevant healthcare provider. Patients should not send sensitive medical information through ordinary communication channels unless specifically instructed to do so. The processing of personal data and health-related information is further described in the applicable Privacy Policy.

11. Online Consultations

Where an online medical consultation is arranged, the medical professional remains responsible for determining whether remote consultation is appropriate for the particular situation. Online consultation cannot replace an in-person medical examination in every case. Patients are responsible for having a suitable internet connection and a compatible phone, tablet or computer. Identity verification or other security measures may be required where applicable.

12. No Guarantee of Medical Outcome

No particular medical outcome can be guaranteed. The individual doctor or healthcare provider is responsible for their professional medical assessment. A second medical opinion represents an independent professional assessment and may differ from opinions previously provided by other medical professionals. MyCzechDoctor does not guarantee a particular diagnosis, treatment result, recovery or medical outcome.

13. Cancellation, Rescheduling and Refunds

Cancellation and rescheduling conditions relating to the medical service are determined by the relevant doctor or healthcare provider and should be communicated to the patient in connection with that service. Cancellation and refund conditions relating to the MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service will be communicated before the patient purchases the paid coordination service where applicable. If the MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service has already begun at the patient's request, the extent of any payment or refund will be determined in accordance with the agreed service and applicable consumer law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

14. Consumer Rights and Withdrawal

Where the patient enters into a contract with MyCzechDoctor as a consumer at a distance, statutory consumer rights under applicable law may apply, including rights relating to withdrawal from the contract. Where the patient requests that a paid MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service begin before the expiry of an applicable withdrawal period, MyCzechDoctor may request the patient's express consent to begin providing the service. Any consequences of beginning or completing the service during the withdrawal period will be governed by applicable law and the information provided to the patient before the order is confirmed. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove any mandatory consumer rights.

15. Patients Anywhere in the World

MyCzechDoctor assists patients from different countries in connecting with Czech medical professionals and healthcare providers where legally and medically appropriate. Rules concerning telemedicine, medical practice, prescriptions, insurance and other healthcare matters may differ depending on the country where the patient is located. A particular medical service may therefore not be available to every patient or in every country.

16. Health Insurance

MyCzechDoctor is not a health insurance provider. Unless expressly stated otherwise, patients are responsible for determining whether the medical service or MyCzechDoctor Coordination Service is eligible for reimbursement by their health insurer or another third party. No reimbursement by an insurance provider is guaranteed by MyCzechDoctor.

17. Privacy and Data Protection

MyCzechDoctor processes personal information in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and the MyCzechDoctor Privacy Policy. Health-related information requires particular care and should only be submitted through the channels designated for that purpose. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.

18. Website Information

Information published on MyCzechDoctor websites is provided for general informational purposes. Website content does not constitute an individual medical diagnosis, treatment recommendation or substitute for consultation with an appropriately qualified medical professional.

19. Third-Party Services

MyCzechDoctor may use third-party providers for functions such as communication, secure document transfer, scheduling, payment processing or other technical and operational services. The terms and privacy policies of those third parties may also apply where their services are used.

20. Responsibility for MyCzechDoctor Services

MyCzechDoctor is responsible for providing its own agreed coordination and organizational services in accordance with applicable law. MyCzechDoctor is not responsible for the independent professional medical judgment of a doctor or healthcare provider. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

21. Changes to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to MyCzechDoctor services, business processes, technology or applicable law. The current version and date of the Terms will be published on the MyCzechDoctor website.

22. Governing Law and Consumer Protection

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Czech Republic. Where mandatory consumer-protection rules applicable to a patient provide rights that cannot lawfully be excluded by these Terms, those mandatory rights remain unaffected.
